About Me

Welcome.

My name is Brian and my passion is people.  The human experience is complex!  People are fascinating and I love learning more about what makes us tick.

I was raised in the Twin Cities area where I earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Minnesota, immediately thereafter I pursued advanced education in a counseling psychology program.  In 2013, I graduated top of my class with a Master of Social Work degree from the University of Iowa. 

Diplomas and degrees can only take a person so far, though.  My best learning has always come from hearing the stories of all the folks I’ve had the privilege of working with.  My hands-on experience casts a wide net – I’ve been a lobbyist, pediatric emergency room social worker, school-based counselor, lead social worker in an academic psychiatric hospital, and many others.  Throughout my decades of work, I find the greatest joy in working one-on-one with people as a therapist and counselor.
